Of the peak climbing excursions in the Everest region (Mera Peak, Island Peak), Lobuche Peak (6119 meters) is known as the most accessible for beginners. 

From the summit of Lobuche Peak, enjoy breathtaking views of the highest peaks on Earth. Right before your eyes are Mount Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8516m), Ama Dablam (6812m), Nuptse (7861m), Pumori (7161m) and more glimmering peaks. Before you even reach the peak, you will get one of the best views in the Everest region (stay tuned). 

Like most adventures in the region, the Lobuche Peak, Everest Base Camp Trek via Gokyo Cho La Pass package begins with a trip to Lukla by air. Trek along the Everest Base Camp Trek path until Namche Bazaar, where we spend an extra day acclimatizing and enjoying the atmosphere of this busy mountain hamlet.  Trek up to Gokyo Lakes, passing them one by one. Become more and more mesmerized as you hike on, with the lakes on one side and the Ngozumpa Glacier on the other. The view from Gokyo Ri (5357 meters) is one of the most amazing mountain views in the world. See Mount Everest, Cho Oyu, and more peaks in the distance, while the jaw-dropping, torqiouse waters lie peacefully below you. 

Cross the Cho La Pass (5420 meters) and watch your breath be taken away once again. The following day, we trek to Lobuche High Camp and prepare ourselves for the impending ascent, making sure our gear is ready and you are properly trained. The camping spot lies on a ridgeline with spectacular views of the expansive Khumbu region. With the right weather, we ascend Lobuche Peak and have a mind-boggling view of the world below. 

Descending from Lobuche Peak, there is still more to come. We reach the famous Everest Base Camp (5364 meters) and Kala Patthar (5545 meters) and join back up with the Everest Base Camp Trek route. Become struck with awe at each place. Descend back to Lukla, enjoying the shiftsin landscape along the way. Detail Itinerary

  • Day 01:Arrival at Kathmandu airport and transfer to hotel. A representative of Roar Himalaya Adventure heartily welcomes you at Tribhuvan International Airport and takes you to your hotel. Take a rest or wander around the winding streets of Kathmandu. In the evening, we give you the lowdown on your upcoming trek. Overnight at hotel on B&B basis.
  • Day 02:Expedition Briefing/Document Preparation.We guide you through the process of taking care of getting the proper permits and documents necessary to summit Mount Everest. Then, we brief you on the protocol and procedure of summiting the peak. The excitement begins! Overnight in hotel on B&B basis.
  • Day 03:Fly to Lukla (2840 Meters) and trek to Phakding.Hop on a flight to Lukla from the Kathmandu domestic airport and begin the adventure. On the flight, we see some of the most spectacular mountain scenery in the world. After landing, we begin the foothill journey. Hike through friendly Sherpa villages, their cultivated agricultural fields, Buddhist chhortens and mani walls until we get an awesome view of Kusum Kanguru before arriving in Phakding. Overnight in a teahouse lodge.
  • Day 04:Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440 Meters).A full breakfast gives us power to begin the journey to Namche Bazaar. The lush trail takes us across several suspension bridges, while enjoying amazing views of Thamserku and flowing rivers. Follow along the Dudh Koshi River to reach Monjo and officially enter Sagarmatha National Park. Keep going along the Dudh Koshi and climb with it as it stretches into higher altitude. Wobble across the tallest suspension bridge in the Everest region just before catching our first glimpse of Mount Everest. Trek a little further and reach Namche Bazaar. Overnight in teahouse lodge.
  • Day 05:Acclimatization Day in Namche BazaarToday, we explore the trade and tourism hub of the Everest region. Namche Bazaar is a busy little town, with cafes, guest houses, and trekking gear shops. Stroll the streets as we meander up to Everest Viewpoint Hotel, where there are spectacular views of the Himalayas. Sip a cup of tea at the world’s highest 5-star hotel and then head back to Namche for the night. There are lots of other alternative day hikes in the area, so if you have any other suggestions let us know! Overnight in teahouse lodge.
  • Day 06:Trek from Namche to Dole (4038m).After leaving the guest house, we ascend for a half hour to the top of Namche Bazaar and get a sweet view of Kongde Ri. After walking on the gentle flat for a while, a junction appears. One route takes us to Gokyo, while the other leads to EBC.  We head up toward Mong La Danda on the Gokyo Path.  The view of Mt. Ama Dablam and Thamserku is stunning. Take some photos, have a rest, and descend to Phortse Thanga or nearby for lunch. From this point on, keep your eyes out for the Musk Deer. Ascend another couple of hours through birch and juniper forests until Dole which has an awesome perspective of Thamserku. Overnight in teahouse lodge.
  • Day 07:Trek from Dole to Machhermo (4470m).The route from Dole to Machhermo takes about 4 hours along a gradual uphill trail. We can see the majestic Cho Oyu after ascending 15 min from Dole. There are two small villages (Lafarma and Luza) that we can stop and have a rest in between Dole and Machhermo. After ascending past the tree line, we reach Machhermo and the desolate landscape takes us by surprise.   Have lunch in Machhermo and explore the wonderful village surroundings.   • Day 08:Trek from Machhermo to Gokyo (4750m). Today is a magical one, as we get to stay next to Gokyo Lakes. After a couple of hours, we reach the first lake. Soon after, we reach the second lake. Both lakes are enchanting with their blue-green tint. We hike for another hour before arriving to the third lake. There is an incredible mountain panorama before our eyes. The village lies nearby the Ngozumpa Glacier, the longest glacier in the Himalayas. Savor these moments, the glacier is rapidly melting because of climate change. Bask in the beauty of Gokyo Lakes. Overnight in teahouse lodge.
  • Day 09:Explore Day in Gokyo.Today is a rest, relax, and take a day hike in Gokyo village. It is a must to climb to Gokyo Ri (Peak) early in the morning for sunrise, but it is up to you. Either way, the views are spectacular. Come back and hangout at the shore of these sacred lakes and wander the village for the rest of the day. Overnight in teahouse lodge.
  • Day 10:Trek from Gokyo to Tagnag (4700m). Ascend slightly from Gokyo Lakes and then hike along a glacier for about 45 minutes as it goes down the valley to Tagnag, our embarkation point for the Cho La Pass. Throughout the day, you will be in awe at the sheer mountain beauty. Enjoy the desolate mountain scenery. Overnight in guest house.
  • Day 11:Trek from Tagnag to Dzongla (4830m) via Cho La Pass (5420m).Today is a little challenging, though full of excitement. An early start is important to ensure the best weather. The challenging bit begins as we ascend on a slippery glacier, but we have the equipment to ensure your safety. As we gain altitude, the views become increasingly captivating. Trek along the side of a frozen lake as we near the top of the pass, which is decorated with colorful prayer flags. Dominating our view is the distinctive Ama Dablam peak, a marvelous sight. From here, we descend all the way to Dzongla, which itself has amazing mountain views. Overnight in teahouse lodge.

  • Day 12:Trek to Lobuche High Camp (5200m).Today we have a short, but difficult climb to Lobuche High Camp. The first half hour is on an even path, but for the next 2.5 hours, it’s a soft uphill. It is not a long day, but it is taxing due to the thin air. The unbelievable mountain landscape makes the struggle worth it. When we arrive to High Camp, we set up our tents and make sure our gear is ready to go. We brief you on the procedure and have some training as well. Overnight in tent camp.
  • Day 13:Climbing.Today and the following day, we conduct the ascent of Lobuche Peak. It is possible to do the climb in a single day, so the following day can be seen as a contingency day in case the weather is not good. Overnight in tent camp.
  • Day 14:ClimbingIf the weather the day before was not ideal for summiting Lobuche Peak, today is the day. Overnight in tent camp.
  • Day 15:Trek to Lobuche (4910m).After a successful ascent of Lobuche Peak, we head back down to Lobuche village to celebrate, feel good, and have a nice rest. Overnight in teahouse lodge.
  • Day 16:Trek to Gorakshep, then to Everest Base Camp (5364m), then back to Gorakshep (5140m).Keep on keeping on! We take an early breakfast and start hiking on the rocky trail towards Gorakshep. We leave our belongings at our guest house and hike up to Everest Base Camp with some water and snacks. It’s a steep and rocky trail, which adds some excitement. We eventually arrive to base camp, which is situated on the Khumbu Glacier. From here, you cannot see Everest, but you can see the Khumbu Icefall, Mt. Khumbutse and Pumori. The stunning view of Everest comes the following day. Take some photos and savor the precious moments before descending to Gorakshep. Overnight in teahouse lodge.
  • Day 17:Trek to Kala Patthar (5545m), then down to Dingboche (4410m).Yet another amazing day on the Lobuche Peak, Everest Base Camp Trek via Gokyo Cho La Pass! Kala Patthar provides up-close views of Mount Everest and is considered one of the best overall views in the area. Enjoy a view of Mount Everest and several more of the highest peaks in the world. Then, descend to Gorakshep for breakfast and continue down to Lobuche. Overnight at teahouse lodge.
  • Day 18:Trek down to Kyangjuma (3570m).We begin our descent back to Lukla today. It is a refreshing feeling doing downhill for most of the day, as well as having more oxygen in the air. Arrive in Kyangjuma and explore the village or have a well-deserved rest. Overnight in teahouse ldoge.
  • Day 19:Trek from Kyangjuma to Monjo (2870m).Still loving on that fresh mountain air, we trek the winding trail back to Namche Bazaar. Keep your eyes peeled for mountain goats and blue sheep which make their home in the area. From Namche Bazaar, we trek steeply down and cross a wobbly suspension bridge over the Dudh Koshi River to reach Monjo. Overnight in teahouse lodge.
  • Day 20:Trek from Monjo to Lukla (2860m).Departing from Monjo, we go down along the Dudh Koshi River, eventually crossing it via a high suspension bridge. Then, take a short, easy, level walk to Benkar. After Benkar, reach Phakding, from where the trail descends. Then, a short, steep ascent leads you past a few Buddhist chhortens and mani walls at Ghat village. After several more suspension bridges, and verdant forests, arrive to Lukla.   • Day 21:Fly back to Kathmandu.It is time to say goodbye to the Everest region. Rather, it is a “see you later.” It is hard not to want to come back again after trekking in the Everest region of Nepal. The morning flight takes us to Kathmandu, arriving in the morning. Spend the rest of the day exploring, buying some souvenirs, or resting. Overnight in hotel.
  • Day 22:Free day in Kathmandu.Let yourself have some rest after all the hard work you have put in over the last few weeks. A few rest days in Kathmandu are well-deserved after this adventure. Sleep in if you want to, wander the streets, see cultural sites, or buy some keepsakes to remember our country by. Overnight in hotel on B&B basis.
  • Day 23:Free day in KathmanduTake another day to unwind and relax in Kathmandu. Overnight in hotel on B&B basis.
